The 'IGROPROM' Continues!
We must give credit to the organizers of 'IGROPROM - 2023': they did what they could, and it would have been reasonable to rest on their laurels until next year. Instead, they seized the moment and continued to showcase the games of domestic developers: albeit on a smaller scale, but still.
Indeed, if an exhibition-forum 'Russia' is taking place in the same area as the main festival of 'Igroprom', why not participate - based on its theme? Moreover, there is a suitable pavilion: 'World of Digital'. Unfortunately, I missed the first presentation, but I managed to attend the second and I look forward to the next ones (free admission!). In the meantime, I offer you a brief photo report.
How to reach it next time? See:
The hall is, of course, a bit small: only fifty seats, but if there is a desire, one can also stand.
The hosts are familiar from the main exhibition.
The first game presented was also known from 'Igroprom' - a blend of arcade and comics:
By the way, regarding the comics from this game: they changed on the screen so quickly that I couldn't capture them. But from what I saw, I can assume: the main 'villain' is a surgeon who had something go wrong during an operation. Then there's a trial and something sinister that transformed him into a monster. In short, I have developed a desire to at least get closer to this game, if not play it.
By the way, each presentation ended with questions from the audience; the one who asked the best question, in the opinion of the game creator, received a prize - a T-shirt.
The creator of the next game is just nineteen years old but has plenty of ambition. In particular, he claims that any object in his game can be either used or at least moved. The promise of taming animals - from cats to bears - has been made.
Then it was time for the game whose release I am looking forward to: 'Song of the Spear'
Preserve "warriors"?! I wonder, did a barely literate schoolboy write that caption, or is it an author's "joke"? Both are disrespectful to the Russian language. At a minimum.
The author presented a network game, made almost single-handedly:
It was time for thrillers, two in a row: "Silence"...
...and "Protector":
The game appears to be based on a book of the same name; written by the same author. I found the book online but decided that 2500 rubles for it was too much. (Especially considering I remember the times when the most expensive book I bought in a completely sumptuous edition - 'Rus' Originally' by Valentin Ivanov - cost twenty rubles.)
Another game on the topic of the Great Patriotic War:
It has been promised that in the "German" campaign, players will fight against allies, and vice versa. (However, some strange young gamer expressed dissatisfaction: why, they say, can't Germans fight Russians?)
At this point, the game presentations concluded, and it was time for lectures: on project management in the gaming industry...
... and the experience of receiving government support for a gaming project:
Thus ended the second presentation of domestic games. I will keep an eye on the announcement date for the third; information can be found **here as well.**
Good luck to all of you!
