Minecraft 1.3 is Coming!

As everyone surely knows, almost every Thursday the Mojang team releases snapshots from the development of the next update - sort of beta versions of the upcoming full patch, where you can find the results of their weekly efforts. And now, for the seventh week, the development of the next large-scale update of the game continues - despite the fact that it has long been officially released, the developers are still actively adding new features to the game, making the world more interesting and beautiful. For those who don't believe it, and for those who are simply curious - I suggest you familiarize yourself with the changes made to the game in the last few snapshots.

Perhaps the most significant change and innovation is the complete abandonment of single-player mode. Don't be alarmed, this only means that now every world you create will potentially be a server that you can invite friends to at any moment. Mojang is currently working hard on changing the logic of the client and server, which will allow players in the future not to spend long hours tweaking network game settings and developing modifications for them twice - separately for servers and clients. In the latest snapshots, this works in such a way that when launching each save, a server with that world starts, which can be freely joined if it is properly configured - ideally, in the future, settings will be conveniently located in the interface, and it will no longer be necessary to separately download the server and dig into its configuration file.

From the aforementioned innovation, several subsequent features emerge:

*****A hardcore mode has appeared in multiplayer (where the player’s death requires the world to be deleted);

*****Texture packs can now be installed directly on servers (It is not yet known if this means that all players will be required to see exactly the textures that are installed on the server);

*****There is no longer a pause when opening the chat or main menu;

*****In "single-player game," server commands work.

From other innovations, the long-awaited ability to trade with NPC village residents particularly stands out. And, accordingly, the appearance of a new item serving as currency - emeralds.

-Now, deep underground, where lava rivers flow and terrifying monsters roam, you can find a new ore - especially valuable for any dweller of a desert or valley - emeralds.

(Just after releasing the last snapshot that added the new ore, the developers realized and within a couple of hours released a new version where the ore turned the color corresponding to green emeralds).

-I came to my senses and added a new screenshot :)

P.S.

I hinted here that the screenshot is staged - because, well, watermelons do not grow in lava, unfortunately!

To trade with one of these nosy desert monks, just approach and greet them with the right mouse button (don’t mix it up). Each village resident offers something unique and sets their price - these can be the most varied items, from bread and seeds, in different quantities, to chainmail that could previously only be obtained in creative mode. The more you trade with the villagers, the larger the assortment of goods they offer.

Villages also receive one small change: the materials of the houses depend on the biome in which the village is located - in the desert, for example, it will be a city made of sandstone, with new sandy stairs. ;)

In the mentioned deserts, new special structures have appeared - rare wells and ancient pyramids, similar to ancient fortresses and mines. They consist of sandstone and sometimes wool - they represent small conical buildings with turrets on the sides, one central entrance, and two small openings in the towers.

-This pyramid is almost buried in sand, only the very top is visible.

Inside, the traveler is greeted by a square room, the floor of which is tiled with wool in a mosaic, where in the center lies the only blue block - underneath it hides the most valuable treasures. It is not worth breaking it; rather, go around the room from the side and start digging down. Under the pyramid, not too deep, there is a room with makeshift sarcophagi - chests are located in small recesses along the walls, containing both valuable emeralds, diamonds, and gold, as well as rotten flesh and bones. But this room holds a surprise - in the center, there is a pressure plate that triggers the destruction mode of all valuables, including your possibly only life.

Boom! And you can write books about your unfortunate adventure. Yes, indeed! Now you can create a book using leather, a feather, and paper - and leave any notes in it for other players to read.

Describe the cocoa beans recently found in the jungles...

Or tell in the book how you raided the blacksmith’s forge in the village...

And then, grabbing items from yet another strange, torch-lit chest, you fled from the angry golem who once gifted you flowers.

You can even write a book about a dragon and your journey to it - To where you tossed all your found treasures into a magical End chest discovered there, and Back - where you brought another chest and, opening it in your cozy home, retrieved absolutely everything that was previously left behind. :Z

-A lot has changed in the game. The stars have become more beautiful, gravel has become different. You can now feed unwanted wooden tools to the furnace; buckets can be stacked into each other, up to 16 pieces, and they can also now be used in dispensers - to pour and collect liquids. The last phenomenon can be used, for example, in building ports - the dispensers can now launch boats onto the water and send minecarts along the tracks ;)

The game has also included half-blocks for each type of wood.

Constructing all of this has become even easier in creative mode, which has been improved for even greater freedom - no slowdown underwater, infinitely durable tools, and immediately disappearing minecarts and boats, along with the ability to search for items in the inventory by their names.

In the creative mode inventory, among other things, a block of the 'slime' has been added - stone, cobblestone, and brick Monster Egg, with which you can spawn a slime in one of the presented blocks.

Creating truly large and beautiful cities can be aided by a new type of world - large biomes. Now forests, deserts, jungles, and valleys stretch for many horizons and are divided by equally long rivers and gorges. This, in my opinion, also motivates long journeys.

-Every new world is more beautiful than the last :)

Well, now survival has become even more interesting, and your successes in trading and exploring ancient pyramids can be recorded in books! Are we expecting even more innovations? I think - yes. :)

The full version of Minecraft 1.3 is expected to be released within a couple of weeks. Perhaps even sooner!
