I'm an excellent judge of character
Miranda Lawson – a Cerberus operative, one of the main characters of Mass Effect Galaxy, a member of the team in Mass Effect 2. As an assistant, she provided Jacob Taylor with information during missions via hologram. Miranda traveled extensively and gained numerous contacts both in the Citadel space and the Terminus system, as well as in the perilous Nebula of Nemeis.
Her voice and appearance were given to Miranda by Australian actress Yvonne Strahovski:
Miranda and Childhood
Miranda was born in 2150. She never had a mother, only a father who was influential, wealthy, and selfish. He modified his gene set to create the perfect human – Miranda. Everything, from her intellect and physical build to biotic capabilities and appearance, was programmed into her before birth. She can easily shoot a robot in the head from a hundred meters away or simply crush it with her biotic power. Additionally, Miranda heals faster and is likely to live longer than other humans. If Shepard comments during their conversation that she talks about herself quite confidently, Miranda will respond that she is not boasting, but merely stating facts.
Miranda grew up, and her unique abilities became a heavy burden. Despite all her achievements, her father never praised Miranda. He always demanded more from her, wanting her to be better, more perfect. To ensure that nothing interfered with his goal, he forbade Miranda from making friends and leading a social life.
Reflecting on her childhood, Miranda notes that her father needed a dynasty, not a daughter, which is why he utilized his genetic material for her creation. The constant pressure and lack of parental love led her to decide to abandon such a life and escape home as soon as possible. Her father employed all his contacts to find Miranda, but she managed to hide.
Miranda and Cerberus
After escaping from home, Miranda joined Cerberus in exchange for their protection from pursuit. She was aware of the existence of this organization from her father, who appreciated their pro-human views. Additionally, he was their main sponsor. When Miranda ended up with Cerberus, her father ceased his search for her and severed all connections with the organization.
Over time, Miranda embraced Cerberus' main goal – aiding humanity. Finally, she was among smart people like herself. She was also attracted to the freedom of action that the organization offered for conducting covert operations: a goal is given, all necessary means to achieve it, and each agent selects their methods. It goes without saying that Miranda successfully advanced in her career and eventually became one of the few in Cerberus who personally met and communicated with The Illusive Man, who highly valued her capabilities.
