Professional thief Charles Dekard, specializing in rare works of art, stealthily breaks into one of New York's museums for strictly professional reasons and seemingly of his own accord, opens a box — nothing less than the legendary Pandora's box.
What happens next fully corresponds to the ancient Greek myth: hidden under a single lock, all misfortunes, woes, and vices suddenly descend upon the peaceful citizens, and along with them — upon Dekard. A huge vortex opens in the sky over New York, from which, as if from a horn of plenty, griffins, werewolves, and other mythological monsters emerge. The city's inhabitants are devoured, pecked at, torn apart, crushed by columns, and taken away in an unknown direction.
Unprepared for such serious consequences and inexperienced in battling demonic creatures, Charles has one option left — to attempt to close Pandora's box. What exactly needs to be done for this — is up to the hero himself.
