"King’s Bounty: Princess in Armor" is a computer game developed by Katauri Interactive and released in 2009. The game is a direct continuation of "King’s Bounty: The Legend of the Knight" and represents a blend of two genres: RPG and turn-based strategy.
The action of the game takes place a few years after the original game. After being defeated by Bill Gilbert, Archdemon Baal plots revenge and ultimately conquers all of Endoria, besieging the capital, Darion, Greenwort. At the same time, Bill Gilbert is not in Endoria: he has set off in search of other worlds. To defeat Baal, the Supreme Mage decides to seek Bill Gilbert, breaking the Reaper's artifact "Time's Hourglass," but Amelie, whom we saved in the first part of the game, breaks it herself and sets out to find her mentor. Arriving in an unexplored world called Theana, we learn that no one knows where Bill Gilbert is. There, Amelie is called the Chosen One, who must fulfill the prophecy by touching all 8 stones of Theana, thereby gaining the ability to ask for help from the local Gods in finding Bill Gilbert and returning home.
The overall game mechanics have not changed compared to the first part, but some changes and additions have been made to the game. We continue to control a hero who can belong to one of three classes: mage, warrior, or paladin. While traveling through the game world, we can explore it, collect various items, and attack enemies. When attacking an enemy, the battle action shifts to a combat arena located on a separate screen. The battle then proceeds in a turn-based mode: during battle we can attack, use spells, or defend against enemies. In addition to basic actions, we can use a Dragonet, which we receive at the beginning of the game. The Dragonet is the local equivalent of the Rage Box, but with its own special abilities: in battle, the Dragonet uses fury to apply its abilities, which we gain over the course of the battle. After the battle, the player gains experience: upon reaching a certain amount of experience, we level up, and there is no maximum level. With each level gained, we receive several talent runes that we can spend on skill development.
In addition to skill development that grants us various bonuses, the game also features a medal system: by fulfilling certain conditions, for example, by killing 100 dragons, we will receive a 3rd-degree medal that grants us a bonus increasing the experience gained by the Manual Dragonet by 50%. Instead of the wives from the first part, Amelie can hire squires who will grant their bonuses to the player and also have additional slots for gear, the number of which has significantly increased compared to the original. The number of enemies has also increased: a new race of Lizards has been added, and other races and neutral monsters have received new units. The number of super bosses has been increased to six, including the familiar Giant Spider, as well as new ones: Archdemon Baal, Drill Robot, Giant Frog Dersu-Kumatu, Mage Zilgadis, and Lizard Ktahu.
In 2010, an expanded edition titled "Crossroads of Worlds" was released, which includes 3 new campaigns (Orc Expedition, Arena Champion, and Crown Defender), a map editor, new items, and new enemies.
