"Turgor" is a computer game from the domestic studio Ice-Pick Lodge, combining genres such as survival adventure and RPG. The publisher is "New Disk". The release of "Turgor" took place in April 2008. A slightly modified version of the game titled "Turgor: The Voice of Color" appeared on store shelves in 2009.
The action of "Turgor" takes place in a very strange place – an entity called the Interstice. This Interstice is a bridge in the truest sense between the upper, that is, real world, and the terrible Nightmare. The main character, of course, does not know this yet, but the world begins to frighten him from the very first minutes of his stay there. Strange plants grow around, frightening-looking animals wander about, and there are no people here at all – only the Brothers and Sisters are the rational inhabitants of these lands. The Brothers control the entire Interstice and are in permanent conflict with the Sisters, who are forced to submit to the Brothers for one simple reason – they need a constant supply of Color. And the Color, in turn, can only be provided by the Brothers. In general, everything is so complicated and confusing in the world of "Turgor" that understanding it is not so easy.
Outwardly, it seems that the Interstice is gradually dying, as gray and dark tones prevail. The only bright spot is often the very Color, which is the main vital force in the Interstice. With the help of Color, the hero can heal himself, perform various actions, and also fight – for this, one needs to draw multicolored hieroglyphs with the help of a certain amount of Color. Color can be obtained in various ways: collecting plants that grow on the ground, breaking stones, and catching wandering creatures. Another method of obtaining the substance involves reviving dead trees to further gather Color.
Why is Color so important? Firstly, without it, one cannot survive in the surreal world of "Turgor," at least not for long. The main danger for the hero is the presence of the Brothers, who treat the unexpected guest quite kindly (except for some). But if the hero begins to break the Taboo, then every encounter with the Brothers can turn into a real brawl. The only way to deal with them is to apply the magic of Color. Secondly, the Sisters control some key nodes of the Interstice, and they will not let the hero pass by easily. To appease the Sisters, the hero will have to part with some of the existing Color. But why is it needed in large quantities when with every step the main character is getting closer to the long-awaited freedom – freedom of body or soul.
