Skyrim features the entire continent of Tamriel
A curious Finnish player named Jesse (Yesse?) with the nickname PPSh-41 explored the far southeastern edge of the province of Skyrim, came across a road leading to Morrowind, and encountered open gates beyond which the game would not allow him to pass. Inquisitive Jesse took advantage of the console's mode to walk through walls and ventured further.
Although players are not supposed to see the lands beyond Skyrim, the vegetation outside the Nord territories does not vanish immediately. After some time, bare rocks begin to appear (or rather, models covered with simple textures). However, the terrain corresponds to the geography of The [Elder Scrolls](/games?search=Elder Scrolls): there is an island of Vvardenfell in Skyrim.
From Morrowind, Jesse made his way to the Imperial City in Cyrodiil — specifically, to the location where it is situated.
Naturally, the question arises — why render the entire continent? There are many explanations, but they do not contradict each other. First, the terrain beyond Skyrim is necessary so that players can see the unreachable mountain peaks from afar. Secondly, Bethesda makes it easier for modders. Thirdly, Todd Howard promised substantial expansions to the game. It is important to note that the story of Skyrim constantly alludes to significant events occurring beyond the troubled province. The most important of these is the war between men and elves, in which the Dragonborn must intervene.
