Almanac "ProGamer" No. 0
From the creators of Gamer Times and with the support of Mafia Creativity!
[cut]
Gamer.ru positions itself as a social network. You can agree with this. You can dispute it until hoarseness. But one thing is certain — the site is imperfect. Take the main page, for example. Let's not lie at least to ourselves: it is almost always at least one-third filled with all sorts of debris. Paid debris, to be completely frank. This is not a secret, not a mystery, and not a revelation — it is a harsh reality.
The site has seen many collective projects. Some were criticized to the point of losing pulse. Some turned out to be "non-format". In some cases, simply ran out of energy. But each brought something new, was a part of the future picture. The picture already painted in mind but never materialized.
In the UGC direction — the "author's" direction, if you will — there is a lot of debris. It will take a long time to sort through, and, amusingly, this is necessary only for users. In reality, Gamer is creating a social network. But friends, hold on. After all, these two systems do not interfere with each other inherently and can very well coexist peacefully.
This pilot issue opens another attempt to reconcile two systems that have been at war on this portal for a long time. One cannot live without the other, and one gives rise to the other. And in the meantime, we fight. It's foolish. By collaborating, the UGC system and sociality will achieve much more and make Gamer.ru truly unique and one of a kind.
On this cheerful note, we return from the bright future to a so-so present.
Perhaps all those who once wrote posts on Gamer are familiar with the three main problems of an author's post: not getting likes, not getting comments, not being read. Each problem has its roots. Of course, you shouldn’t expect to be read with enthusiasm if you write poorly or, worse, uninterestingly. But what to do if you are simply (oh, horror for each of us, including the reader!) overlooked?..
In any case, the official policy of the Almanac "ProGamer": every readable author's post is by definition undervalued. Every one! Undervalued precisely by attention. How many posts are created every day on the site? How many of them did not find "their" reader and disappeared into the thickets of blogs?..
Now let’s get to the point
ProGamer is a collective project. And going forward, it will be published on behalf of Gamer\_Times. So if you haven't subscribed yet, now is the time to do so. Issue #0 is completely prepared by me, filled with speeches, and I will inevitably have more subscribers. So you can consider this post a combination of advertisement, greeting, indication of the development course, and so on and so forth. In all subsequent issues, there will be minimal creativity, maximum meaning.
By the way, the issues are weekly. The optimal period is one where we are not overwhelmed with posts, but it's also no longer embarrassing to show ourselves to the public.
At the moment — at its starting point — the Almanac is divided into two parts, as simple as felt boots. The first part is news of the portal. Weekly events, yes. Briefly, one could say — thesis-style. The second part is the Almanac itself. It was decided to divide posts into various categories — thus, you can start reading from your favorite. Simple and clear, isn’t it?
How can you help?
Read posts, comment on posts, like posts. In any order, as convenient for you. This will help all of us.
Now, regarding the Almanac itself. Essentially, the team is already in place — it is the core of the old Gamer Times team. But generally, we would like to maximize the "layering" of the project. To create multiple duplications of all systems.
So if you really want to work on the Almanac "directly", just write to us.
Now about indirect help. This block will be copied into all issues since it is truly important.
All authors wishing to see their posts within the Almanac (and also just wanting to simplify our work) should immediately after publishing their post send here a description of their post in accordance with the template.
Please try to maintain a neutral point of view in your description: you are making a description, not an advertisement.
Directly in the Almanac, no competition works, posts that are in the "Portal News" section, and those published anywhere before being published on Gamer, are not included. Not that we are fanatical fans of exclusives, but nonetheless, it is indirect advertising. Also, the selection does not include outrageously illiterate and simply so-called "trash posts." There are no clear criteria for evaluating the latter, so the abstract "adequacy" will be determined by collective reasoning. And finally, here you will not see completely non-format material: it seems that by reviewing a film on a gamer site, authors can quite predict the outcome.
Well, it seems there is nothing more to say in the introduction. Let’s move on to the main content.
After many months of work, cursing and swearing, Teodor\_85, being a leisurely person but doing everything conscientiously, finally published an interview with Pegazs.
A special account Miss\_GAMER was created to cover events of the same name contest. At the moment, it has only two posts, but trouble is just the beginning? .. By the way, all indirect signs indicate that the preparation for Miss Gamer may indeed resemble a full-fledged reality show. I suggest we all pray that it does not turn into some kind of "House of Gamers-2". However, the latter is unverified information.
On February 23, the clan Girls Only quite originally congratulated the male half of the site. The Black Master did not stay away either.
Starting from February 23 (more precisely: starting from the deep evening of February 22), all users with "Gender" set to "Female" in their profile had the opportunity to gift the missile system "Topol-M". For a mere 20% energy! And the Topols flew across the site... The fact of receiving such a gift is reflected in the avatar of the "victim", and their number — in the profile.
The "Heroic Interview Contest" has concluded. Details in the post.
"Saw: The Survival Game." Who will survive from the portal: the gamers' saw or the gamers the saw. Stay tuned for the continuation of the thriller..." © Kitty\_Venom
In general, you probably couldn't help but notice this advertisement for "Empire Wars" from the main page. If you somehow managed to miss it — go here and "enjoy". The administration wisely does not disclose the identity of the person who agreed to hang this on the site.
Completely unexpectedly for everyone (including the author), a rather ordinary post with some facts about the site garnered a diamond rating. This once again proves that the site loves numbers and various "interesting facts". Keep this in mind, as this genre has not yet taken root on the site.
An interview with Gentelmen — the deputy of the Team Fortress 2 blog — has been published.
The first stage of Miss Gamer is approaching its climax. Nine out of ten games available for participation are already known, so if you want to participate or force your girlfriend to participate against her will, now is the time to start looking at the available options and sharply increase your patriotism for the already chosen games.
To grind in every sense. Who knows what to expect.
Some more information about Miss Gamer became known from the Grind.FM broadcast, where NoFate and svetakru were present. In general, there are three useful news:
First, the jury will consist of NoFate, Vren, (sit down just in case) Maddison, representatives from Innova and Kasperskylab, as well as "someone else." There is even a certain probability that someone from the users will join. However, this is all still preliminary information.
The second piece of news: one of the main prizes will be Xbox360+Kinect. Considering that, for instance, Miss "Mortal Kombat" will receive a PlayStation 3 — this prize does not create much "wow effect". However, again, there is still time before the contest, and it can turn out that this is far from the only and not the most valuable prize.
Destroying the First Gaming Channel is not as easy as practice has shown. At the moment, the issue of carrying the live broadcast of the Miss Gamer contest finale online is being resolved.
The "Weekly Overview of the Gaming Industry and Everything Related" (aka simply "Weekly") has reached its jubilee, fiftieth issue.

Drakensang → Dragonica Fashion No. 3 – Cosplay
A completely insane post with mind-blowing similarities of various Dragonica characters to characters from other worlds.
Here we are at the concluding part. As already mentioned, the Almanac is a people's project. Each issue will change according to the most reasonable wishes, until there are none left at all :)
Also, the Almanac will have yet another regular "section." These are surveys. They will somewhat help us adjust our course of development.
Finally, I would like to point out that this is still a pilot issue, and I remind you that subsequent issues will be published from the account Gamer\_Times and to say that the sections (in essence and appearance) will be actively changed. For now, this is — the last homage to the old good Gamer Times.
P.S. Oh yes, and most importantly. Your feedback is very important to us.
