Expansion "Blood and Wine". Guide to finding unique sets of non-witcher armor and weapons

content auto translated from {from}

A lot of interesting content was added in "[The Witcher 3](/games?search=The Witcher 3)" with the release of the "Blood and Wine" expansion: a huge, entirely new location with its own unique flavor and atmosphere, new and well-remembered old monsters, unfamiliar characters previously seen in books, and, of course, new sets of armor and weapons – witcher, knightly, and even vampiric. Today, we will talk about the last two types of combat gear for our master swordsman. We will help Geralt get rich and decorate the main hall of Corvo Bianco with truly unique specimens of armor and blades.

Attention! The damage values for swords and armor mentioned below, as well as their levels, are not constant figures. They are determined the moment the witcher pulls them out of the loot container and places them in his own pouch. Therefore, the higher your hero's level at the time the item is assigned, the better its stats will be. All other characteristics of the blades and clothing (bonuses) remain unchanged.

GERALT'S SET FROM RIVIA/RAVIKS FROM CHERTOROG

The named knightly armor, crossbow, sword, saddle, and even shield will be granted to our hero if he does not refuse the request of Guilherme de Lonfall and agrees to participate in the Grand Knight's Tournament in his stead. In other words, to obtain them, we will have to complete an additional quest "The Ballad of a Knight's Heart", and we must do so with "one hundred percent synchronization" (forgive me, haters of the Assassin’s series for this metaphor). Depending on the name under which the witcher registers for the tournament, he will receive either the set of Geralt of Rivia or the Raviks of Chertorog. Both sets are identical in their characteristics and differ only in name and the heraldic symbols applied to them.

1. Named armor, supplemented with gloves, boots, and trousers of a Toussaint knight, as well as a named shield with a coat of arms, will be automatically granted to the witcher after visiting the scribe's tent and fulfilling all necessary formalities. Whether to participate in the tournament in them or change into the familiar witcher attire is up to you, but in any case, all issued items of tournament gear will become yours from now on and forever.

The named shield, unlike the armor, is purely a decorative accessory (and after obtaining it, it goes into the Backpack for other items), but don't be quick to throw it away. It will look quite nice on the wall of the main hall of Corvo Bianco or in Geralt's bedroom.

2. Named crossbow (attack power +300%) will be given to Geralt only if he wins the shooting competition. He will need to hit nine targets faster than the opponent.

Obtaining the crossbow is hard, but it is possible. To ease your task somewhat:

a) don't skimp on three skill points and max out Lightning Reflexes from the Crossbow Mastery tree (the Fencing block). This will give you slow motion while aiming, allowing you to save some precious seconds against your opponent;

b) spend one more skill point on Trickster (the Ability block). This will save you a bit more time on reloading the crossbow;

Attention! Don’t forget to insert the skills Lightning Reflexes and Trickster into the slots for active skills, otherwise, you won’t be able to use them.

c) don't refuse Baron Palmerin de Lonfall’s proposal to play Gwent with him for a place in the tournament standings. If you win, then during the competition, the sun will not shine in your eyes and aiming at the right targets will be a bit easier.

3. Named knightly saddle for Roach with 90 stamina will be given to Geralt if he wins the horse race – the second tournament competition.

The witcher will need to complete the course in a certain time. The initially allotted time is clearly not enough even to cover a small part of the course, but it can and should be increased by knocking down straw dolls with his sword and hitting targets placed along the route with his crossbow.

For killing the dolls, you will get a larger time bonus compared to accurate shots, but try not to neglect either. It goes without saying that the upgraded crossbow ability Lightning Reflexes will also come in handy for our hero in this competition.

Both prize saddles are absolutely identical in their characteristics and differ only in name, color of the saddle blanket, and coat of arms on the back.

4. Named sword will be gifted to our hero only if he wins all three tournament competitions – shooting, horse races, and team sword fight – and defeats last year’s tournament winner – knight Greguar de Gorgon. The swords of Geralt of Rivia and Raviks of Chertorog are exactly the same in their characteristics and differ solely in name and heraldic sign on the hilt.

In the sword competition, you can use potions, food, and oils, but only if they are placed in active slots and were applied to the blade beforehand, that is, BEFORE the conversation with Guilherme about Vivienne's curse in Geralt's tent. During the battle (both team and duel), the game will not allow you to access your Inventory. You also will not be able to use Signs. Choose potions based on your build and playstyle, but only the Hangman's Venom oil will do. If you have one extra skill point, it might be worth unlocking and equipping the skill Gourmet (additional skills tree), allowing you to restore health for 20 minutes after eating. In that case, don't forget to place at least one food item in one of your four active slots (tip from Red\_Starreader).

During the team battle, try not to get surrounded – a few missed hits, and you will lose. Don’t focus on one opponent. Your allies are weaker than the fighters from the opposite team, and if you don’t help them from the very beginning, you will quickly find yourself in a situation of one against five. Use the entire arena, try to attack from behind those who are engaged in combat with one of your teammates. Don’t attempt to kite the enemy and don’t stay in one place for too long. When Geralt approaches, enemies will automatically switch from other bots to him. Use potions sparingly. Before the duel with Greguar, you will not have the opportunity to meditate and replenish them.

In the duel with Greguar, I strongly advise against trying to parry his powerful sword strikes. It is much more effective to duck under his arm when he swings and then land a few blows to the side and/or from behind. Then step aside, wait for the former champion to attack again and repeat the described maneuver. Occasionally Greguar swings his sword with such force that the blade gets stuck in the ground, and it takes him some time to extract it. At such moments, he is particularly vulnerable – don’t miss your chance to lay on some extra blows.

In addition to the tournament trophies, Geralt will also receive a laurel wreath of victory. This, by the way, can be worn on the head if desired – just place the wreath in one of the pocket slots in Gear. There’s no real benefit to it, but it’s nice. After all, winning the Grand Tournament is no small feat.

TESHAM MUTNA SET

This vampiric gear set Geralt will find in the dungeons of the Tesham Mutna castle (southeast of Beauclair), where he will certainly visit with his old friend while completing the main story quest "Echo". The set includes a full set of armor, a steel sword, and a mask.

Attention. You can only obtain the armor from Tesham Mutna during the quest "Echo". Before and after entering the ruins of the vampire castle for the storyline, the entrance to its dungeons will be sealed, and the set will be correspondingly unavailable.

**Bonus for simultaneous use of 3 or more items from the set**: killing an enemy restores health points equal to 1% of the maximum health points for each item in the set. Maximum bonus – 6%.

So, together with a close friend, let’s head to Tesham Mutna. He will open the entrance to the dungeons for us, and while we descend, he will tell us the history of this dreadful and mysterious place.

1. Armor, trousers, and sword are located in a reinforced chest standing in the first hall you enter after descending from the entrance by the stairs. A scroll with the oath of the previous owner of this set is laid on the chest.

2. Boots and mask will be found in a reinforced chest in the second hall of the dungeon. Upon entering, Geralt will notice the strange glyphs on the walls. A long wooden spiral staircase separates it from the first hall.

3. Gloves are located in the corridor with chambers, in the back niche to the left along the path, in a small chest. We enter this corridor from the second hall, where the boots and mask were found.

TOUSSENT ARMOR (ARMOR OF THE KNIGHT FROM THE LAND OF FAIRYTALES),

SWORDS VITIS AND GESHEFT

Geralt can only acquire combat souvenirs from the Land of a Thousand Fairy Tales if, as part of the main quest "Long Night", he decides to find Siana, rather than seek assistance from the Hidden. There will be no other way to enter the magical realm of illusions, except during the main storyline quest "Once Upon a Time...". In short, don’t miss the moment and enjoy fully. But please, be careful and try not to crush Thumbelina.

1. South of the Tower of Long Hair (i.e., Rapunzel), on the shore of a small pond (or puddle? I don't know what to call this body of water), Geralt and Siana will stumble upon the corpse of a wandering knight, who wandered into the fairy tale and stayed here forever. We take off the armor – armor, trousers, boots, and gloves – from the corpse. Nearby lies the steel sword Vitis – we simply pick it up.

Note. According to the developers' intent, the road to the knight's body should be indicated to our heroes by a wandering firefly. Actually, there is a firefly in the game – it hangs over the puddle, left of the path to the tower – and is perfectly capable of fulfilling its function. However, in reality, the chance of accidentally stumbling upon the body of the knight is significantly higher than the chance of spotting the guiding firefly. This is quite a paradox.

2. The chance to obtain the silver sword Gesheft will arise for Geralt after he defeats the Giant from the Clouds and, should it be his will, a romantic scene with Siana. Stepping onto the bridge of the castle in the clouds, the witcher will notice the wandering firefly. Before the castle gates, the firefly will dart left, behind the bridge's railings. Follow it.

One jump, and the witcher finds himself beneath the bridge. Now he needs to reach the cave on the other side of the castle moat.

In the cave, he will find a sword stuck in a dead fire. This is Gesheft. Light the fire – the hero will kneel, and the game will automatically save. After that, he can take the blade and smile at the amusing Easter egg in "Dark Souls".

TOUSSENT CROSSBOW

Those who wish can complement the set of Toussaint knight armor (and not only it) with the Toussaint crossbow, designed for heroes level 31+. There are two locations in the duchy where one can find it: the princely guard post in Beauclair and the ruins of Galleon Castle.

![](/api/field/image/SuCVr0lKc35FS)

1. The capital post of the princely guard is located in the artisan quarter of the city, a little south of the roadside sign “San Sebastián”. The game will allow you to begin your search for it almost at the very start of the main quest "Beast from Toussaint", after the knight accompanying the witcher, Milton de Peyrac-Peyran, gets busy with his own matters and suggests Geralt examine the victim's body in Corvo Bianco.

2. The ruins of Galleon Castle, the marshy elven ruins in the north of the duchy, are initially occupied by the horde – a large group of bandits, mostly consisting of fighters level 46. After completely clearing their hideout, peaceful workers and a blacksmith will move in. It is from him that we can buy the necessary crossbow. I bought it for 213 crowns.

SET FROM HEN GUIDT

Geralt will be able to replenish his collection with another set of vampiric armor if, within the main quest "Long Night", he firmly declares his intention to seek help from the Hidden, completes Oriana's quest "Call of Blood", and receives a magical key from her. Without this key, it is impossible to enter the cave where the main vampire boss of Toussaint resides and where the armor and sword from Hen Guidt are stored. And if you desperately want to acquire this entire set completely, know this: it can only be done within the quest "Between Worlds".

**Bonus for simultaneous use of 3 or more items from the set**: killing an enemy restores health points equal to 1% of the maximum health points for each item in the set. Maximum bonus – 6%.

Interesting. The set from Hen Guidt strongly resembles the armor of Count Dracula from the movie "Bram Stoker’s Dracula." Thanks to Dobbel for discovering this Easter egg.

The entrance to the Hidden's catacombs is located south of Beauclair, on the shore of a lake, in close proximity to the Place of Power.

1. Gloves and steel sword. A long tunnel leading from the entrance down will bring Geralt to a fork. The corridor leading straight ahead and to the left is flooded, while from the passage to the right you can hear ominous hissing and grunting. Since we are interested in gear, we take a deep breath and dive.

Underwater, there will be another fork again, and you must choose the left tunnel.

As soon as the stone vault above your head gives way to free water surface, surface, turn around and spot a chest. Congratulations, the first two items from Hen Guidt are found. Now just climb out of the water and retrieve them.

After obtaining the blade and gloves, you can peacefully head to meet the Hidden, if you came here as part of the quest "Between Worlds". The other items of the set we will search for already after the witcher is thrown into the strange catacombs, immune to the action of the familiar laws of physics from school days.

Attention! If you intended to fool the game and, having acquired the magical key, set out to rescue Siana from the Land of Fairy Tales, while leaving the examination of the Hidden's den later, then I’m sorry to disappoint you a bit: in this case, you can only obtain the gloves and sword from Hen Guidt. The path to the other items from the set lies through the hall where the Hidden has settled, and upon first entering there outside the quest "Between Worlds", a cutscene triggers in which the main vampire kills Geralt, absolutely and forever. In short, welcome to reload, dear schemers.

2. Mask and trousers. So, at the Hidden’s behest, Geralt is led into a huge cave, where a stream flows along the ceiling, and the waterfall turned out to be a water-ascension due to the unnatural direction of the water current. On the opposite side of the wonder-waterfall, there is an entrance to the tunnel. This is what we need (and, actually, Geralt is also supposed to go there according to the quest).

Just a couple of steps away will bring you to a fork. According to the quest, you should go straight, but we are looking for armor, so we go left.

The narrow tunnel ends in a cave with a box containing mask and trousers. But to seize them, you will have to fight. Be prepared for a battle with three protofleders of level 47. Only after dealing with them will Geralt have the opportunity to obtain items of the vampiric battle attire.

Attention! If you suddenly forgot to take the mask and trousers with you while going through the quest "Between Worlds", you can return for them later. For instance, before the Ceremony.

3. Boots and armor our witcher will find after testing the physical anomaly with gravity and walks up the ceiling following the upward-flowing stream (I suspect that this strange stream switching places between top and bottom is a reference to Dante's "Divine Comedy"). After discovering the mega-scope of the poor mage, we follow his trails a bit, and then watch a short video. When we regain control of the hero, we will only need to take a few steps to the coveted chest with the footwear and armor.

Attention! Boots and armor should be taken immediately as soon as your witcher is next to them during the quest. Later, you can technically reach them, but getting back from the cave with them to the surface will not be possible. The key script will stop working, and instead of a short but very important cutscene, we will witness the hero's death (game version 1.22).

SILVER SWORD ARONDITE

Yes, yes, we're talking about the very same sword that Geralt once received from the Lady of the Lake near the village of Dark Water. Gods, how long ago that was! So much water has flowed by since then. In the whirlwind of events that have beset him, the witcher could not keep the precious gift, but now he has a chance to reclaim his unique blade. This will happen during the quest "Paths of Destiny", which our hero will receive by taking the note "Challenge for the Trials of Virtue" from the notice board in the main market square of Beauclair. Another way to unlock the quest with Arondite is to eavesdrop on a conversation between a certain knight Bors and Percival in the tournament fields (in this case, the note from the notice board in town will disappear).

The damage of Arondite is calculated just like with other items, at the moment it is assigned by the witcher. However, the bonus allowing to improve the sword, increasing its damage, will be present in any case.

Note. I debated for a long time whether to include a point about Arondite in this guide or not. On the one hand, the silver sword is an instrument mainly (if not exclusively) of witcher production, so it would seem to belong in a guide concerning the search for witcher gear. On the other hand, this particular blade is given to a person who demonstrates true knightly virtues. Hence, it is a knight's weapon, and if so, this sword fits well into the theme of this guide. Besides, in Toussaint, it has long been the responsibility of wandering knights to protect the inhabitants of the duchy from monsters. So, weighing all the
