Herald of Heroes
Ubisoft has finally updated the official Might and Magic Heroes 6 website. Along with this, a lot of new information has appeared on the site and, apparently, there will soon be even more.
Dragon Eel
Embodiment of Shalassa, the Dragon Goddess of Water, these creatures often act as guardians of sacred places, the entrance to which is forbidden to ordinary mortals. The Dragon Eel is endowed with enormous magical power and is summoned by Shalassa's acolytes in moments of dire need. It is the force of nature itself that only the bravest armies would dare to fight.
Castle
Country - Sacred Empire of the Griffin
Capital - Falcon
Religion
They worship Elrath – the Dragon of Light, who granted them magical powers based on patronage over the primordial elemental spirits of light. The aim of the Sacred Empire of the Griffin is to establish order in Ashan and to spread the faith in the Dragon of Light – Elrath. It is believed that the entire empire is ruled by an emperor, but in reality each of the six principalities has its own power structure, and at least one of them is in revolt.
Recent Events
After the foretold demon invasion, dozens of fragmented kingdoms came together to fend off a common threat. The forces of Shio were successfully defeated, inspiring this achievement; the rulers of the recently warring realms signed a pact of alliance to prove to the other factions that they are superior and stronger.
Characteristics:
The troops of the order of order include not only humans but also various mythical creatures such as griffins, angels, and glories. The forces of the sacred empire often win in prolonged battles due to their high fighting spirit and resurrection of fallen allies.
Strengths of the army: healing and protection of troops, high fighting spirit, troops with good physical resistance.
Weaknesses of the army: focus on melee combat, lack of aggression.
Guardian
Large Shield (regular and upgraded units)
The guardians of the Sacred Empire are renowned for their discipline and military coordination. At the first sign of an attack from the skies, they raise their powerful shields above their heads, thereby forming an excellent defense against attacks.
Defense (regular and upgraded units)
The guardians of the Holy Empire earned their honorary status through acts of bravery, fearlessness, and true heroism. On the battlefield, they are able to quickly reorganize and shield their allies in danger with their shields.
Shield Smash (upgraded unit)
Guardians of the Holy Empire who have proven their loyalty and exceptional skill in melee combat become Praetorians, who are capable of better protecting their allies. When attacked by a "charge" from their charge, a rain of heavy shield blows falls upon the attacker.
Crossbowmen
Piercing Bolt (regular and upgraded units)
The crossbowmen of the Holy Empire were feared by all the knights and soldiers of the enemy, as the coordinated fire of several crossbowmen can penetrate not only armor but also the famously sturdy dwarf marble.
Piercing Arrow (upgraded unit)
Crossbowmen who have served long have learned to improve and refine their bolts to extract maximum benefit from them. Now the power of their bolts is sufficient to pierce not only the front line of the enemy's defense but also the warriors standing behind them.
Griffin
Strike from the Sky (regular and upgraded units)
A griffin soaring high in the sky is an ominous sign for the enemy. The griffin ascends to dive down at the enemy at great speed. Those who have encountered griffins in battle know the losses griffins inflict on the enemy ranks.
Endless Resistance (regular and upgraded units)
Griffins are highly valued in the Griffin Empire for their agility and ability to make quick decisions during battle. There is a saying in the empire: "Ducking a griffin's attack is much harder than stealing a girl holding hands with her father."
Enhanced Strike from the Sky (upgraded unit)
Griffins armored in armor can deal much more damage when executing a strike from the sky due to sharp, blade-like assassin's inserts on their claws and beak. As Emperor Connor said: "The situation will never be desperate as long as we have Griffins in golden armor capable of flight."
Necropolis
Country - Silver Cities
Capital - None
Religion
Necromancers worship Asche – the Dragon of Order, but they praise her seventh form most – the form of a spider embodying death. During the events of Heroes 6, the necromancers were not full-fledged rulers of Erisha. They seek to spread the faith in the seventh aspect of Asche and desire to establish a balance between the realms of death and life.
Necromancers prefer a quiet existence. They do not enjoy festivities and despise a careless lifestyle. In the cities, it is customary to speak in whispers and quietly; no one is in a hurry anywhere, and the streets are never crowded. They have no concept of "family" and they spend their birthdays in solitude and sorrow.
Recent Events
Previously, necromancers existed as a small sect in the Silver Cities, but over time their sect found a huge number of followers seeking immortality and wishing to explore all aspects of death. The necromancers want not just to turn the entire world into their controlled undead but to occupy a dominant position in Ashan.
Characteristics:
The troops of the Necropolis consist not only of beings devoid of self-awareness and controlled by necromancers, such as ghouls and skeletons, but also of powerful necromancers who have not undergone the full cycle of death, such as vampires and liches. The control of a large number of ghouls and skeletons requires much power from the necromancer, which is why the slowness of their troops is determined; to replenish their strengths and army, the necromancer primarily destroys living beings endowed with souls.
Strengths of the army: magic aimed at weakening the enemy; the troops consist of undead, therefore concepts like morale and fatigue do not apply to them.
Weaknesses of the army: limited mobility, creatures are slow.
Skeleton
Hollow Bones (regular and upgraded units)
"Fools! Don’t aim for their heart! They don’t have one!" The legendary last command of Captain Gregor given to his crossbowmen became immortalized thanks to the one archer who managed to escape after the clash with the undead inhabitants of the tomb. The survivor recounted this incident to the mad Emperor Legair personally, who reportedly became so disappointed that he could not obtain an endless flask of wine that he appointed a goat to lead his armies that same day. His reasoning was that a goat would be better at breaking bones than a squad of bolt shooters.
Confusing Spears (upgraded unit)
The force used by necromancers to revive the Skeleton Spearman is immense and has an unusual side effect. In the area within the Spearman's reach, the bones of creatures of all sizes that fell here centuries ago rise to form something like a brittle and piercing garden that slows movement and reaction to commands.
Wight
Dead Flesh (regular and upgraded units)
"This flesh is tough as ghoul skin" - a famous saying from Nag's comedic play that tells the story of an ingenious blacksmith's wife who during a famine fed her husband leather armor for lunch, illustrating the main characteristic of the wight. Its flesh and skin, rough and tough, serve as natural armor, extremely resistant to all types of physical attacks.
Fury Against the Living (upgraded units)
"Release the insatiable wight; his hunger will lead us to the thief." The treasure keeper in Nar-Hereshe, Baron Deslock, kept the Insatiable Wights near the greatest treasure of the sect, behaving like watch hounds. Their heightened senses, driven by an insatiable hunger for living flesh, left not only thieves disoriented but also rats and curious crows. The moment they caught the scent of a living creature, they were overtaken by it, and they began to move noticeably faster, gaining strength and rage in anticipation of the feast.
Ghost
Intangibility (regular unit)
Ghosts are simultaneously in the Spirit World and in Ashan, but never fully in either of these worlds. This allows them to pass through walls and trees effortlessly, and when they are attacked, part of the damage goes "into the air." "My sword went right through him... and then it... went through me!".
Wail of the Abyss (regular and upgraded units)
Heals allied undead, possibly resurrecting beings if the socket still exists. Living creatures surrounding the healing target take minor damage that is added to the healing power.
Seal of Death (upgraded unit)
"It looked as though the ghost marked his soul for harvest." In her diary, Priestess Jane explains the difficulties she faced while attempting to resurrect soldiers who were attacked by ghosts. She stated that the ghost has the power to seal the encounter of its victim with death, making her return to life during a battle incredibly complex.
Immaterial (upgraded unit)
"Of all the children of Ashan, I hate the dead the most! I struck this ghost seven times before he finally breathed his last." It is said that Archdemon Zol-Moran was the first to meet an army of ghosts on the battlefield. His legion of Juggernauts was wiped out, and he vowed that the next time he left Shio, he would bring armies using magic.
Vampire
Vampire's Embrace (regular unit)
"They drink blood not only to heal themselves; it is needed to dilute the poison running through their veins." When the armies of the Sacred Empire first observed vampires fighting up close during the wars with the Demons at the second eclipse of the Blood Moon, they did not know which of the two was the greater evil. The Great Inquisitor Amanda is said to have written about their powers for the first time after catching and interrogating a vampire. "If a vampire does not eat, then his own blood, which is something like poison, will dissolve him from the inside.".
Timeless (regular and upgraded units)
"Strike twice. It’s the only sure way to kill him." This advice from the war-weary Cyclopes is particularly good to remember when battling a Vampire. When a vampire focuses solely on defense, he can enter the Spirit World for a sufficient time to avoid an attack. If one needs to be assured of inflicting damage on him, they must hit him again before he has time to regain his balance.
Vampire's Grip (upgraded units)
"She stabbed him in the stomach, and he bit her in the back, the angels healed her everywhere, and the Emperor drank to that." In a tavern song recounting the epic battle between Amanda and Lord Vampire Mirooul, the Great Inquisitor of the Sacred Empire was bitten on various parts of her body in each verse. She kept stabbing the vampire in the stomach, but evidently to no avail. In the end, she won, but hardly anyone reaches the 40th verse of the song, falling victim to the ritual of emptying the glass along with the Emperor.
Lich
Embrace of Asche (regular and upgraded units)
"When the Lich is on the battlefield - look at the shadows... they become longer." The Lich exudes a constant aura of Darkness, allowing him to cast magical curses as easily as calling someone a bad name. And although liches rarely use vulgar speech, many of their disgruntled opponents curse and swear, suffering from their intensified spells.
Life Drain (upgraded unit)
The Archlich can influence the cycle of life and death and may harness its energy for his own ends. He can drain life from an enemy and redirect it into the body of an allied undead. This immense power, considered wicked by many, is viewed as relatively altruistic by necromancers as it cannot be used to heal himself.
Inferno
Country - Shio, the Fiery Prison
Capital - Ur-Hekal, the Gates of the Burning Hell
Religion
Their ancestor is Urgash, the Dragon of Chaos. Inferno was created by Urgash with the aim of defeating the elemental dragons Elrath, Silanna, Silat, Malassa, Shalassa, Arcat, and Sar-Ilam. For a long time the forces of hell were imprisoned in Shio, a hellish world at the core of Ashan. They believe that for morality, freedom of action is paramount, so they answer to no one. It is precisely because of their uncontrollability that all the peoples of Ashan fear the demons, even though they are locked in the core. However, often peaceful citizens of different states fall under demonic influence, becoming cultists - demon worshippers.
Recent Events
The hellish heat and lava are the only things that please demons, but being imprisoned is intolerable for them. Their new leader, Kha-Beleh, has begun a campaign for a world where all demons are created equal, within and outside of Shio. He has started gathering an army to invade Ashan and proclaim demons as not the main, but at least equals among the other peoples of the world. The battle slogan of demons is "Divide, conquer, and dominate." All demons are warriors. Each of them seeks to destroy and annihilate. The demons united in an army can almost not be stopped. Fortunately, these forces of hell are challenging to discipline, and lesser demons are pursued by more powerful ones.
Characteristics:
All of the demon folk is an army. The primary goal of any demon is to kill and destroy, and alone they can inflict significant damage. Within a disciplined army, almost nothing can stop them. Fortunately for their enemies, discipline is not their strong suit, so demons must remain under the constant command of their leader.
Strengths of the army: deadly, unreal luck is always on their side.
Weaknesses of the army: weak discipline, morale.
Hell Hounds
Endless Resistance (regular and upgraded units)
Created and trained for guarding, the Hell Hounds never leave an enemy without retribution. Their keen sense of smell and hearing does not let them down.
Insatiability (regular and upgraded units)
Once wounded, the Hounds do not forget the opponent but wait for a chance to exact revenge. The scent of the insulted awakens in them a hungry fury, and they begin to attack until either they or their opposition are dead.
Greed (upgraded unit)
Cerberus is greedy; there is even a saying in Shio: "One head is good, two heads are better - but only as long as you feed both." Cerberus bites all enemies around itself when attacking: after all, it has two heads.
Juggernauts
Chaos Armor (regular and upgraded units)
Juggernauts have made a pact with Ur-Kral. In exchange for a vow to destroy all creations of Asche, they received an armor that can change depending on the weapon. Many wizards and blacksmiths have died with eyes wide open in shock, seeing how their best inventions have no impact on the Juggernauts.
Crushing Strike (regular and upgraded units)
Vowing to destroy all of Asche's creations, whether they be living beings or stones, Juggernauts obliterate everything between them and their victim. It is said that their favorite sound is the crunch of crumbled stone, crushed to dust which reminds them of the mines in Shio - a paradise for Juggernauts. The attraction of the strikes - the presence of Juggernauts on the battlefield creates a sense that they are the only force that can determine the outcome of the battle. As a result, they receive a large portion of the damage, despite the presence of more dangerous units nearby.
Terrifying Aura (upgraded unit)
A Juggernaut on the battlefield looks so dangerous that all surrounding enemies believe it is the only force capable of determining the outcome of the battle. Its aura acts as a beacon, and the Juggernaut attracts all attackers to itself, even if there are more dangerous opponents nearby.
