«Divinity Original Sin» - «Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition»: did you know that…
"I wanted to know where the first trio goes at the very beginning of the game, running out of the abandoned temple with their loot. How do they pass by the drunken guards at the bridge? I'm even curious – what would happen if we defeated Her?"
Necrolord_Zorg 1
"I also became curious, I’ll try to pull it off."

Did you know that the first enemies encountered by the heroes at the very beginning of the game can indeed be destroyed? Unfortunately, this cannot be done immediately: the necromancer summons skeletons and escapes under their cover. Open combat is also impossible: no matter how high the initiative of the heroes, the enemy will inevitably make the first move and disappear. (This is in the disgusting style of "Larian Studios": remember Adramahlik from "[Divinity: Original Sin](/games?search=Divinity: Original Sin) - II"? The hero's initiative was twice that of the demon, and the enemy still acted first!) So, one must return to this place much later, leveling up and acquiring equipment.
When generating, we give each hero teleportation, allowing them to bypass the staircase leading to the training cave, transporting directly to the mollusk on the shore, and they return much later – from the other side. The trio of enemies always stands outside the cave: perfect, let’s mine their retreat paths. One hero emerges in the field of vision, causing the enemies to flee, while the second lies in ambush and blows up a barrel blockade: the bodyguards perish, but the level twenty “boss” escapes!
And what if we place barrels closer using telekinesis from the shadows? The leader still manages to hide. Besides barrels, we also use three “Meteor” scrolls – the “boss” loses half of his health and still escapes.
There remains only one way, the chest-telekinesis method. It worked!
And judging by the remaining staff, it was Leandra herself.
(By the way, you cannot rob her before the fight: even a hero with an invisibility potion will cause the victim to flee if they approach, unless you can avoid fighting the undead.) It should be added that you can deprive Leandra of health (but not kill her!) in this way three more times: in Evelyn's lair, in the Church, in the Elemental Forge (you won't get experience for this).
Similarly, you can defeat the “first trio” of opponents in “[Divinity: Original Sin](/games?search=Divinity: Original Sin)”. Moreover, the leader there is only fifth level. (You can manage without the telekinesis of a super heavy chest; a scroll with the “Meteor” spell will suffice.)
Did you know that the most trouble in the final battle of “[Divinity: Original Sin](/games?search=Divinity: Original Sin) Enhanced Edition” is not caused by the Dragon of Void and its entourage, but by the heroes’ allies represented by Ikara/Leandra and Zandalor?
Not obeying the gamer’s commands, they rush forward and do exactly what one wouldn’t want. Furthermore, they need to be healed, and at times, the essence of Leandra takes over Ikara and switches sides! You can’t get rid of the companions (unless you lost Ikara and Zandalor in previous fights), but there is a bloodless way to avoid their involvement in the final battle.
Immediately after appearing in the First Garden, we make one of the heroes invisible and send them forward; they withstand a battle with Death Knights and stop at the beginning of the staircase leading to the final battlefield. Their companion(s) also take turns into the shadows and move to the same place; Ikara and Zandalor stay put!
As soon as your heroes defeat the dragon, the instigators of all this will arrive on the battlefield – to enjoy “their triumph.”
Yes, but how to defeat the dragon and save Astarte from premature death? Read on!
Did you know that in “[Divinity: Original Sin](/games?search=Divinity: Original Sin) Enhanced Edition” there is a rather simple way to overcome the Dragon of Void without putting any of your people at risk? Once upon a time **I watched a video** on the walkthrough of the final part of the game at the difficulty level “Tactics”; the gamer fought the dragon for a full half hour in real time (starting from the 44th minute of the video); the same battle under my supervision took no more than five minutes. How to reach the finale without “allies” – described above; now let’s find out what to bring with us.
A marksman or crossbowman must fully develop the “Stealth” skill, and “Shadow Walk” will also be beneficial. The second companion should have several invisibility potions and about ten “Invisibility” scrolls. Of course, maximally developed initiative is welcome.
The shadowed shooter moves along the right side of the location toward its edge; their invisible companion moves to the spot where Astarte will be. As soon as the dragon appears, an arrow is released at him. After each shot, the marksman returns to the shadows (“Partisan” doubles the damage), ensuring they remain invisible at the end of the round.
Their companion casts invisibility on Astarte and drinks a potion, also disappearing from the enemies’ sight (if they have free action points, they can aid the marksman with “Meteor” scrolls and meteor grenades). If everything goes as it should, the battle will conclude quite rapidly.
As far as I know, this is the only safe method to defeat the dragon in “[Divinity: Original Sin](/games?search=Divinity: Original Sin) Enhanced Edition”; in the classic version of the game, there are several. It should be noted that if you manage to acquire or craft a couple of dozen “Meteor” scrolls, then using them, the “tactical” trio will handle the Dragon in the first round, and the “valiant” duo will take it down in the second.
Did you know that you can defeat the Dragon of Void in “[Divinity: Original Sin](/games?search=Divinity: Original Sin)” by at least three safe methods? The first method is classic: before the battle, using telekinesis, we surround Astarte with four giant barrels, making her invisible to the enemies, and we battle without fearing for the goddess’s life.
This is important!
The goddess has a mere eight hundred life points, a barrel placed next to her inflicts significant damage: on the first attempt, the third barrel already incarnated Astarte; so keep healing her with scrolls. Moreover, the patch “improved” the game, making the barrels super heavy; it isn’t so easy to carry four of them to the finish with two heroes, take that into account.
The second method has already been described above: everyone, including the goddess, becomes invisible to the enemies and shoots arrows at the dragon without penalty.
To execute the third method, one of the companions’ “Luck Charm” must be developed to the limit: fourteen to fifteen units. Only that character should talk to the merchants and open all containers; there is a chance that sooner or later they will come across the unique scroll “Lava Burst” – instant death for the Dragon of Void.
However, to defeat the main enemy, it is not necessary to go through the entire game, nor to fulfill all crosses; this can be done much earlier.
Did you know that you can complete the game “[Divinity: Original Sin](/games?search=Divinity: Original Sin)” without visiting Hiberheim, without freeing Ikara from icy captivity, without learning about Jake's fate and a host of other “No”? It’s enough to find enough bloodstones to open the Source Temple door in the Phantom Forest for the heroes (and earlier, before the patch that “improved” the game, it could simply be kicked down!).
We free Zandalor, and satisfied, Zix-Zax invites the party to the First Garden. The appeared Leandra sends Zandalor off who knows where and disappears; we rush to the final battlefield. Not far from the “Divine Box,” the party will wait for Leandra alongside the Undead and two Death Lords.
This is important!
First of all, we remove the invulnerability from the Death Lords from invisibility, then we shoot an arrow at the Undead: a dialogue will begin and Astarte will appear behind the party. If you shoot the Undead without revealing yourself – the game will “freeze.”
The conversation is over, we finish Leandra – she constantly summons Death Knights to assist her – and her companions; Astarte returns to her rightful place; the dragon arrives. Having stocked up on a lava scroll or giant barrels – the battle will go as usual. If not: Astarte, seeing the heroes who have not reached maximum development, will try to help them with magic – revealing herself every round; you need to prepare a large number of “Invisibility” scrolls and potions with the same effect.
The finale will be ordinary, except without mentioning Ikara, Leandra, Zandalor, and others.
The same can be done in “[Divinity: Original Sin](/games?search=Divinity: Original Sin) Enhanced Edition”, with minor differences. Leandra will meet the party there as before; Zandalor killed by her will resurrect after the battle and will likely participate in the final battle (I didn’t allow him to). After the victory, there will be a inevitable dialogue with the magician.
Did you know that the most cohesive and attentive group in “[Divinity: Original Sin](/games?search=Divinity: Original Sin) Enhanced Edition” are the goblins from the similarly named settlement? A marksman, possessing powerful weaponry and developed “shadowing” ability, is capable of single-handedly taking down both orcs, barbarians, and the innocent: in short, everyone, except the goblins!
A critical hit, one of the sitting potential enemies around the campfire falls dead with an arrow in his heart, the others continue the conversation as if nothing happened: their comrade fell dead; probably, it was the wind? Merchants continue trading with the hero who just destroyed their companion; all calmly step over the corpse in a pool of blood. And only the goblins do not hesitate for a second: a guard fell dead from an arrow – it means there’s an enemy nearby! A marksman who enters the settlement will be immediately attacked. However, I won’t hide: from my perspective, “indifference to corpses” from most around is a useful “feature” of the game; it’s good that the developers did not “improve” it.
Did you know that the most massive battle of the game between heroes, hill people, and orcs in the Hunter's Edge can be significantly eased? A marksman with maximum “Stealth” development and a powerful weapon takes down all potential enemies one by one: each with a single arrow!
In the end, the hill people will only have Yarl left, the orcs will have: Grutilda, two archers, four warriors (the last ones will not leave the tavern hall) and a goblin servant; furthermore, Yarl will be killed by the orcs themselves.
Did you know that the encounter with the seekers of fugitive imps in “The Knight's Grave” has an unobvious continuation? If you lead the seekers down a false path to the shores of Saesila and attempt to attack (experience is lost!) – nothing will come of it. Usually, after that, heroes head to the imps for a reward.
However, if you quickly teleport to the shores of Saesila (the first encountered portal), run across the bridge guarded by drunken legionnaires, you will see the seekers of the imps talking again; for this, you will receive an achievement and additional experience. Is there a powerful marksman in the party? It’s worth trying to take down one of the seekers with a single shot. (In any case, I managed to do this on “Tactics.”)
Did you know that both in “[Divinity: Original Sin](/games?search=Divinity: Original Sin)” and in the “enhanced” version, there are two seemingly impossible missions? Actually, such missions are not given to the party, but if there are enemies – you must attempt to destroy them all! The first is related to the demon invasion, which can only be stopped by destroying the giant bloodstone using tenebrium weaponry. The demons will fall, but experience and equipment will be lost? What if you try to acquire a vulnerability spell against the Death Knights first – maybe it will remove defenses from the demons as well? Unfortunately, it did not work: the opponents remain invulnerable.
The hero stealthily sneaks up to the bloodstone, almost destroys it and then returns, engages the demons into combat and hurries back to the giant crystal.
If you successfully “activate” all horned opponents, the party will receive eighty-eight thousand experience – the richest “windfall” in the whole game! – but without the equipment of the defeated enemies.
It should be added that in “[Divinity: Original Sin](/games?search=Divinity: Original Sin)” this method does not work, no experience is granted for each of the destroyed demons.
The second quest is to destroy all the Death Knights in the Luculla Mines. The problem is, that upon encountering Leandra, the mines fill with lava, and there's no returning there. In “[Divinity: Original Sin](/games?search=Divinity: Original Sin) Enhanced Edition” the thief has received the wonderful spell “Winged Sandals,” allowing movement over lava: perhaps it would be possible to deal with the Death Knights remaining in the flooded mines (they walk freely over it)? After all, the bridge over the chasm is not on fire, you can attempt to lure the enemies there. And again – alas: as soon as the spell ended, the hero standing on the bridge turned to a pile of ashes.
But if you bypass the activation point of Leandra’s appearance using teleportation, the mines will not flood with lava; you will be able to synthesize the vulnerability spell for the “iron lumberjacks” and return to them for a closer acquaintance! (In addition to that, two squads of the innocent will remain alive.)
Closer to the game’s finale, Leandra’s appearance is activated by simply approaching the staircase, but the wicked sorceress will still take revenge on the heroes for such a “trick,” stealing a portion of experience from them: she will not activate the trio of Death Knights, that awaken during the standard passage of the mines. It should be added that this “trick” works just as well in “[Divinity: Original Sin](/games?search=Divinity: Original Sin)”.
Thank you for your attention! Good luck to you all!
