Powerleveling Guide for Companies
The topic of rapid leveling has always stirred the minds of visitors to our portal. Various authors once wrote advice for true min-maxers. And they helped hundreds of newcomers to take a worthy place in the top without breaking the rules.
Now let's look the other way - at the top companies. What do we see? That not one or two companies have shamed themselves by trying to climb over the heads of their colleagues to the top spot. And the more ambitious the company, the stranger and more illegal the ways of gaining experience they choose.
- Rumor has it that for the best results, most community managers work under substances. [Source?]
Of course, we don’t blame them. How can they know how to level properly if not a single competent guide has been written on the topic until now?
- And good luck figuring out these guides when you're permanently "under the influence".
But now it will be, and progressive members of the portal will help you, who have gathered in Google Wave to collaboratively create it for you. During the creative process, several kilograms of popcorn were consumed and many cups of coffee were drunk. At the same time, not a single community manager was harmed.
- Use at your own risk. The authors of the article bear no responsibility for the unreasonable use of our advice. We also have nothing to do with the accidental appearance of Magistrom at the top of the companies' list. Did he not appear there? Even more so.
Features of Companies on GAMER.ru
So, how does a company differ from an ordinary user-hamster?
Immunity to spells. A wise move, otherwise they would permanently keep each other in silence. However, this does not prevent them from having the Troll-M (which stands for "Troll-Silence") system in their pocket and also having direct communication with the General Headquarters of GAMER.ru ("Yes-yes, finally ban this idiot, he is bullying me!"). Moreover, posts from company representatives can be buried and burned. The companies haven’t grown to this yet, but they will undoubtedly use these spells against each other at the first opportunity. Why? See the next point.
A separate top. In which there are currently only 27 positions. But they still manage to squabble over them.
The need to maintain reputation and keep face, no matter what happens. They've actually long since neglected that, but we'll remind them. Although they never listen to us at all.
Endless possibilities for editing posts. Officially, this is to conduct reports and quizzes in real-time. But in reality, this ability is given to them in case users see that a CM has said something ridiculous. So that the CM can quickly erase it and say, "We're not locals, we bought a place in the company on the way, and in general, that's how it was." Such occurrences happen roughly every other time.
In such incredibly complicated conditions, companies have to fight for a place in the sun. Let’s see what leveling tools they have left.
Leveling through Posts
In the current system, most experience points are awarded for likes on comments. But if you're a community manager - don’t even dream that this will allow you to avoid regularly creating new posts.
- No panic. They don’t have to be original at all. With our balance, hamsters will simply upvote the company.
But you must constantly remind them of the company you work for. The daily traffic of GAMER.ru is around 30,000 unique users looking for something interesting.
- 90% of them don’t go beyond the main page, but who cares?
How often do you write posts, %companyname%?
- Let’s put it this way: how many opportunities to announce your company have you not drunk away to competitors?
Now you might say you have nothing to write about because the PR department isn't sending news. Listen up, comrade! Your task is not to report news, but to work on developing a community of loyal customers for your company, right? Bang your head against the wall, drink poison, dance a jig, or even die — your bosses will still ask if a community of hamster-consumers has already been formed?
So what to write about if there are no news? You have plenty of paths:
Discussion of already released games. These games deserve to be talked about over and over again, don’t they? Yes, of course. If you don’t think so, you shouldn’t work at this company. And regarding what exactly can be discussed, you can easily come up with it yourself. "When you meet a character with a rare mount in the game - do you rejoice for them or envy them with a black envy?" "If with the arrival of a new addon you could keep only one item, which one would you keep?" "My favorite character class and why I play it". We won't continue — I hope you understand. The main thing is to wisely ask a question, and the rest will be written by people themselves. And your rightful silver will be in your pocket. If you also promise something to the most original commenter-participant of the thread, like a Dragon Legend shirt with a cheap print, then
diamond(what diamond, what are you talking about?) silver and universal recognition are guaranteed.Discussion of games that have not yet been released. People are waiting for these games... and if someone isn’t waiting, your sacred duty is to make them wait. This can be achieved through the same polls. "Which character class are you looking forward to the most and why?" And so on.
Discussion of questions that concern the readers of the portal. These can be blog topics "Questions and Suggestions", reflections on user freedom on G.ru, a greater number of good spells.
Hosting contests "just for fun", in order to
let Aquariti wingain universal respect and farm more likes from grateful hamsters to the first three points. But remember, hamsters grow fangs and spikes if they have to wait half a year for a T-shirt they won. And also remember this: you do not need to organize a big showcase contest with a budget that requires approval from your superiors. At least host internal games for portal users, with bonuses in the form of in-game currency/items/loot/charm in the games. Contests are a damn good way to attract users and increase traffic. Of course, there's no need to explain this to a competent community manager, but Captain Obvious is always on guard. Good, interesting contests are the key to success, %companyname%. Just so you know!
Leveling through Comments
It’s no secret that comments currently bring more experience than posts. So what are you waiting for? Comment! Just make sure to do it wisely.
Follow the blogs of your games and praise all the good posts. Praise from a company representative means a lot to a budding author.
Try to support all the blogs of your games as much as possible - share news, videos, or something like that.
Be active constantly, do not disappear for weeks.
Indirect Leveling
A company’s reputation is not the same as the amount of experience. Beginner community managers often confuse these two concepts. Meanwhile, management will not ask you which place you're at in the top. They will ask how visitors to GAMER.ru feel about the company. And how many of them have registered in your browser, yes.
You can say that your efforts have paid off when readers wait with bated breath for each of your new posts and ask for more. When from your praise the author grows wings, and he is ready to write more and more just to hear your "thank you". When local trolls mock competitors because there’s nothing to mock you about.
For your company’s games and yourself to be loved, develop the blogs of those games. No, of course, you shouldn’t write in all these blogs yourself all the time - you simply won’t have time for that. But you absolutely must support other authors. What’s stopping you from writing thanks in a private message to someone who writes original articles or manages the blog? Or asking a user who left an insightful comment to make an expanded post on that topic? Another tip from the captain — try to be closer to the players. Communication and participation in the life of the portal is part of your job. Readers should not feel a barrier (and there should be one, of course) between you and ordinary mortal gamers.
You’re probably known in the forums of your company's website - so invite active visitors from there to help you create a cohesive community. And girls. We don’t have enough girls here. And tits.
Encourage users to write reports about events organized by your company. They will get their pluses - and you free PR.
How Not to Level
In RPGs, all means are good. But remember, you're not a player, but an NPC. So your possibilities are limited.
Do not beg for likes from the visitors of the portal. We know of a case when one respected company blackmailed an ordinary user demanding them to silver their post. And it must be said that the size of the user’s likes meter was not large enough to silver this miserable and insignificant post alone. They had to ask their friends for help. They helped, of course, but there was still a sour aftertaste.
Do not badmouth other companies. For example, once one company wrote a post claiming that another company was unfairly occupying a place in the top because it hadn’t posted anything for a long time. And suggested that it be kicked out from there. Later, of course, they were ashamed and deleted their post, but in the short time it existed, they had already shamed themselves.
Do not argue with users, even if they initiate the conflict first. Recently, one user accused a company of that the contents of the purchased game box did not match what was written on the box. And the company representative responded with rather harsh words claiming that they are only the distributor and are not responsible for the contents, and the user should read the box more carefully. And naturally, they disgraced themselves. Meanwhile, what stopped them from saying the same in a polite, cultured way without offending the interlocutor?
Little Tricks
Create a separate account for yourself personally. This is needed so that they see a person in you (although usually even this measure does not help, but it’s worth a try?) A company account is always associated with those lazybones who delayed the release of a long-awaited project or ruined the whole game with their localization. Moreover, if you write from a personal account, you will have a strong argument in reserve - "If it would be more persuasive, I can repeat this from the corporate account!"
You can also not mention that you might switch to a competitor who already has a name here! This way you can always rectify the situation. Just think of the New Disk account.
Befriend authoritative users. No matter how much you want to be the coolest here, they really decide things. No, not the tits (although their owners organized one of the most influential clans), but rather the army of pink penguins with flamethrowers. Not to mention the local special forces of authors. This post clearly demonstrates how a few users can stomp all companies at once just by inviting each other to Google Wave (the banal herd instinct of hamsters). And you’re even afraid to come to our Skype chat!
- Be a role model and don’t give cause for people to laugh at you. For instance, a respected community manager wrote a post about how his mother came to visit him and his wife and complained that they both were glued to their computers. With the question, "Do your parents think that computers are evil?" The question was correct because it provoked discussion. But to write that when your mother visits you, you turn your back to her and bury yourself in the computer - is to disgrace yourself. Yes.
